[Taking a cue from Jeremy Keith1]
Today I spent most of work in the recording booth listening to a voice actor perform the script for a training course I’m developing. Being in the room during the recording is a new duty for me, and I enjoy it.
My job was to make sure the script was read as written, even when what was written didn’t exactly make sense (ocassionally we could make small changes for grammar). It reminded me of a previous job as a quality control person at a pre-press company—obsessively checking over printer PDFs to make sure all changes were made correctly. I did well there, and today in the booth. My at-times-unhealthy desire to be correct suits the job well.
Let’s see if I can get to 100 days. If I fail, I fail. return to article
