I try not to fall into the traps that seemingly every aging person does—complaints about how this next generation is the end of society as we know it.

The other day I was talking with a friend who was complaining that youths don’t know how to spell thanks to autocorrect. You’ve heard this before. I’ve heard my mother say the exact same thing. I do care about spelling words correctly—one should have this skill.

But I stopped myself—is anyone complaining that we don’t remember phone numbers? What more can we do now thanks to a contacts app?
